These web pages are created to pursue a personal interest in the past and the present weather.
The diversity and awesome powers generated by varying weather conditions throughout the changing seasons will never cease to create interest for so many people.....
‘Though most of us grumble about the weather, passing comment about it to strangers often aids the creation of new and valuable friendships’
ABOUT SANDWICH WEATHER
My aim is to be able to share the readings from my weather station via this web site, whilst following a general interest in the weather. I hope my web visitors also find the content of some interest. Lets move on to look at some of the more interesting LIVE data available..... here is where you can start to get interactive!
Click on the CWOP picture in the left margin and the Weather Underground picture below to view much more detailed information being generated and uploaded from equipment at Sandwich Weather.
The equipment used here comprises a dedicated computer, a Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station and various software applications to manage the influx of data generated by the Davis weather station.
The LIVE view above incorporates data from my equipment; it is published by ‘Weather Underground’. Here is a link to their web pages where more details about ‘Wunderground’ are published. Try clicking the link and searching for ‘Manston United Kingdom’
My weather station is set to upload/update live data every two or three seconds when the station computer is running.
The updates are set to run continuously throughout each day and night (24/7). I will also be pulling together links from other major weather sites to add more interest and to provide sources of weather information as the site develops.
Weather forecasting from data placed upon these web pages is beyond scope or intention; please do not base important decisions upon data posted here. For your convenience, two links are placed below to national weather forecast agencies.
MET OFFICE - MANSTON
BBC WEATHER - SANDWICH
You may notice that the forecast from the BBC is made in association with the MET Office and therefore contains essentially the same data. The MET & BBC links are included to provide local forecasts and subject to further navigation, for the UK as a whole.
The Open Sandwich web pages, together with the links contained therein, are a credit to their creators and are valuable guides to Sandwich past and present.
